A well written and easily followed manual is so important when things get technical. This guide is so clear.

A good HHO kit and cheap gas are virtually synonymous. In fact, it would not be unreasonable to say that an HHO gas amounts to almost free fuel. It works in a couple of ways to save spending at the gas pumps. It replaces some of the gasoline previously required to power the vehicle but also increases the combustion efficiency by anywhere up to 65%.

After the installation of an HHO kit, all that is necessary to produce the HHO fuel is a small amount of water (around a quart). How much does a quart of water from a tap cost? It will be good for at least 800 miles and more. And how much does it cost to make an HHO kit? Less than $200, perhaps up to $350 if you need a mechanic to lend a hand.

While HHO technology remains strictly in kit form it has many advantages. In Japan, for example, taxis run on pure hydrogen are being tested. It is possible that by 2015 hydrogen gas stations will be rolled out across Japan. However, the cash savings will probably be less than with an HHO kit. HHO uses plain old water on board the vehicle, while pure hydrogen must be mass produced and distributed.

It is a fair jibe that HHO cheap gas is only a hybrid system. Gasoline still needs to be used. But in practice it may still be cheaper and greener, or more environmentally friendly, than producing hydrogen on a mass scale. Time will tell, and it will fascinating to see how auto manufacturers respond to developing technologies, especially ones that can be done yourself.

How an HHO Kit Produces Cheap Gas

With the help of a well laid out instruction manual, HHO kits are within the technical capabilities of most people. No particular mechanical knowledge is required and the only tools needed are found in most household toolboxes. They are easily maintained, requiring ferrous oxide to be removed from the catalyst just once or twice a year, depending on the mileage done.

The catalyst is readily made from a metal like platinum and then housed in a plastic reservoir. It can be in a spiral or flat form and it is best to consult the manual regarding the differing effects. The reservoir is then wired to the car or truck's battery along with the ignition wiring and a cheap control panel. As the car starts up, electricity is conducted through the H2O.

That then splits, with oxygen rising from the anode and hydrogen from the cathode. Basically, the H2O is catalyzed. When the two break the surface of the water, HHO gas is formed. It passes via a vaporizer to the engine. Once in the carburetor it mixes with gasoline or diesel from the gas tank and combustion takes place.

This is what is very clever. Not only does it take the place of a percentage of the gasoline or diesel, it also combines with them in a manner which augments the combustion efficiency up to fivefold. It is all quite safe and promoted by the US government, which is why HHO is proving to be so popular. The IRS rebates $2,000 to any tax payer who has fitted an HHO kit. [Timothy Payn]

With the price of gas so volatile and likely to rise dramatically in the long term, it is madness not to look into HHO technology. Unfortunately, as ever, the car makers are still way behind the times and still fiddling about with cars powered by electricity. That's all they've got up their sleeve and any meaningful kind of electric auto won't roll off a production line any time before 2012. Just look at the reports from this year's Detroit Motor Show; not the smallest hint of HHO technology. It's madness.

The average increase in miles to the gallon over all makes and models of cars and trucks, gas or diesel, which have been independently assessed is 53%. All from a tiny amount of water with a light electrical current running through it. The water is catalyzed and HHO gas rises to the surface from the positive and negative terminals.

All systems are still hybrids. Not enough power can yet be produced solely from HHO. Still, savings of up to 60% on gas bills can't be bad. Additionally, a $2,000 tax refund should be deducted from your IRS bill if you pay tax. That soars all the way to $50,000 for seriously heavy trucks. Yes, many truck fleets are adding HHO kits to their trucks, along with with the self-employed.

Yet more good news is that the only byproduct of the HHO kit part of the hybrid is a small amount of water upon cooling. That means anyone with a kit is doing their bit for the environment.
